2018 10 20 Meeting Notes

Mary C: question of the day: what’s your favorite Hallowe’en candy?

Website: Tim, Jaye, Christina (leading), etc should be ready to debut in November!! Volunteers
asked to be involved in a secret block making project.

Nancy: asking for receipts to be handed in. Our tax exempt status was revoked, and after much
hassling, now have our EIN figured out. Taxes need to be submitted, much hard work for

Volunteer assignments will be talked up on Sew Day. If you want to continue in your volunteer
job, tell Gerre.

Cheryl: New hexies include Retreat hexie and also Mini Metal. Shall we continue to next year?

Charity Sewing: Peggy has kits that need to be quilted — please take them! Shows one of her
patterns “going rogue” … Baby quilts are going to Valley Med NICU, larger ones going to SJ
museum for “guns for cash and quilt” project. ALso larger ones to VA, nursing homes. If you
have info on who might like the larger ones, let Peggy / Michelle know. Sue will be showing how
to make ½ sq triangles and Michelle teaching what to do with it — to be a charity sew day on
Nov 3.

Mary C: Sew Day is Nov 3 — there’s going to be a Charity Sew, and Amy will be in charge of it.

Sue: Challenge of images for inspiration. Mini quilt – use a picture you like and make a quilt from
Jan Carlton Bailey – CUrves ahead: Sat Jan 26, $80 per person. Would love a deposit of $25.
Will be in Brown Hall at the Church.

Color My Quilt: NIcole: for your Wiggly coming soon. Karen, Joelle and Gerre are closed.

Rhonda: Holiday Swap: Make anything beginning with a ‘B”, also use a color that starts with a
B. December 1 will be the holiday party and day to bring in your completed, wrapped
swap item.

Gerre: Officer election will be in Nov mtg.
